Well yes Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus, and his name is Hank He had one of his elves (AAA) deliver me a present early this year. It arrived about 2 and a half hours ago, and is sitting in my driveway. It is the brand spanking new (to me) 1993 Ford Bronco that is in my sig. I waited for the tow truck driver...er... I mean Elf to leave before I attempted to climb into the cockpit. And now I have a real good incentive to get my right knee to bend. I can get in without too much of a problem, however, I can't operate the brake pedal with my right foot because the knee will not bend enough. And in order for me to use the gas (without pressing on it and revving the engine up) I have to sit a little sideways. So for the time being, I will train myself to use the right foot on the gas, and the left foot on the brake. (Which is much safer than using a stick to operate them like I did after my first accident, and trying to drive a 5spd Starion ESIR) Getting out is a major ordeal though because of my almost straight right leg. Going to have to find the trick to that so I can make it look smooth. Can't be falling out of my own truck now can I? Thank you very much Hank! This will make things a lot easier for me. What goes around comes around, you will be blessed for this.
Hey FTE'ers, sorry for the late post, but I had a very busy day. Cleaned up the Bronco a bit, and found a $1.60 in change, and even a Susan B Anthony dollar. This was right after I donated a dollar to someone who needed it for the bus. I ran a bunch of errands today in the Bronco, and I ended up over doing it with too much walking. I did not take the wheelchair, and just took a 4 footed cane. And to save gas, I parked the truck in one spot of the shopping center, and went to 4 stores, and that was my downfall. My bad leg was killing me in pain, and even my good knee was hurting. To top it off, I had forgotten to take my daily meds, and was getting a killer headache. By the time I got back, and unloaded the groceries, my right knee was throbbing. So I took the meds, and had a salad for lunch and just relaxed in my recliner for awhile. Then my best friend came over, and I told her about the truck, and she was very happy for me. Her boyfriend came over later to pick her up, and I told him about the truck, and he couldn't believe it. I took some pics of it today, and will get them in my album as soon as possible. The Bronco ran great. Plenty of power, all the gauges work, lights work, and it looks like it has 4 brand new tires. Going to be a good year now Haven't come up with a name for it yet, but I am working on it.
Here it is sitting outside my house. I apologize for the fuzzy pic, I did not take it (obviously, since I am in it. ) My friend has a habit of moving the camera slightly whenever she takes a picture. I will try and do a timer shot tomorrow when the sun is not going down. I have some pics in my album I took today of the truck in the supermarket parking lot, and in front of my house.
