I have a 1999 Explorer XLS. I am having problems with the driver side power lock: it won't unlock with the driver button, and now the keyless entry won't unlock any doors either. Based on a wiring diagram, I have determined that the problem is the driver door unlock relay. Unfortunately I can't find the relay!
Can anyone tell me where the power lock relays are? I am specifically interested in the driver unlock relay.
Mike, there are three door lock/unlock relays, and I'm pretty sure they are located in the driver's side rear cargo area. Pull off the access panel (where the jack is), and look toward the front of the car. Might need a flashlight......
Thanks for the input. I found the 3 relays exactly where you said, and surpringly they were easy access. I tested all three and they were good.
I started working on the wiring, and fortunately quickly found the problem: a broken wire under the driver side floor. Everything works fine now.
