Ho do I disable the..............
Hi all, I have an 89 F150 4x4 with a 5 spd. It has a safety mechanisim on it so the clutch has to be fully depressed to start. Well it has to gotten to the point that you have to push the clutch thru the floor board to start it. lol Is there an easy way to disable it? I have looked and I can't find a switch button or any thing. It's killin' me!!! LOL

If the clutch switch isn't mounted to the pedal bracket pressing on the arm of the clutch pedal, then it's above the gas pedal where the clutch master cylinder shaft comes thru the firewall & connects to the bellcrank on that end of the pedal shaft. The Haynes manual tells how to adjust it, and the wiring diagrams will show how to jumper it if you want.

I'd say your prob is the bushing on your clutchrod are worn there plastic not to expensive and not real hard to replace. Just take a look at your pedal and move it slightly while you should see the prob.
