but seeing as i sold my 4'' s/d springs to kris (alpha) to replace his 78's, he probably has a stock set and a 4'' lift set of 77.5-79 front lift springs for sale.
I still don't get where you guys come up with the idea that rear springs will ride like a tank. I tried a set of rears under the nose of my 460 pile when I was re-doing the front suspension, as they will push the axle about 4" forward, and while there was lots of arc in them with no load, when I let the weight down on them they squashed out until the shackle folded back and the spring eye was touching the frame/spring mount.
For that 79 though, I say Super Duty springs all the way, they will ride great and are almost a direct bolt in for that truck.
Why not just get a set made? 200 bucks for a used set when for that much or a little more you could probably have a set made. St. Louis Spring is one place that comes to mind. Also, I love seeing what other regions think is a rust bucket, I'd do some stuff I wouldn't be proud of to find a dent in that shape.
