For areas where 4x4 is not needed but a locker would be nice to have. Like the beach, light trail driving, great burnouts if you wish, and just to say you can lock the rear in 2wd. Toyotas have it, Why cant Fords

I guess the burnout is the only "practical" reason, LOL. Everything else could be done (and done better) with 4WD on and locked rear, right? I was just wondering, no problem with wanting it though.
I don't think I can lock the rear of my TRD offroad Tacoma without being in 4WD. I do know that the locker is offered in the 2WD version of the Tacoma, but if you have 4WD, I think you ned to use it to be able to lock the rear.
