HELP no start!!!!!!!!!

My wife 02 ex with the 7.3 will not start. Here is what I can tell you. I had been getting 2 code for a little while. Code po670 and po863 I think. I lost the paper that had the codes on it. The check engine light has been on since I have been getting the codes. My wife says it had been running fine but had been cranking over slow. The starter is new and the slow occasional slow cranking happened before and after the new starter was installed. She went out to start it and it wouldnt start but was crankling slow. It was about 60 degrees out side. Once I came home I tried it and it was cranking slow like the batteries were low but ther batteries are relitivly new. The tach wasnt moveing so I changed the CPS and tried it. Still wouldnt start. there is a little white smoke coming from the tail pipe. I am lost. PLEAS help.

White smoke= glow plug issue

The codes point to the GPCM or Glow plug control module, replace it and that should fix your problem.

Looks exactly like this: Ford F250 E250 Diesel Glow Plug Module Control DY876 | eBay

Also, Get a battery brush and clean the cables really well. even if they look clean. You will be amazed at how much better it will crank. It builds up an oxide on the cables causing slow starts but will not look dirty.

Would a GPCM cause the tach not to ready when you are cranking the motor?

It was getting late and I gave up for the night. I will plug it back in when I start on it again in the morning. I was just grabbing at staws when I tried it. I pulled a 1670 code before I tried unpluged it.
This is the wife excursion and I am tring to get it up and going so she doesnt have to use my old work truck. Does any one have the P?N for the under the cover wiring harness? Thanks.

Do you have a spare CPS (cam position sensor). IIRC it's a 10mm socket and about 10-15 minutes to do.

If it's turning over to slow it will not start ,you didn't say that you checked the batteries you said that they were relatively new ,have a load check done on the batteries individually and check all your connections . These 7.3 take some serious power to start and if one battery is weak it will kill the other.

I changed the CPS and still nothing. The batteries were ran down but I jumped them from my 97 PSD and let them charge for about 45 minites and it was cranking pretty good. I will charge the batteries some more and go from there.
Before I changed the GPCM I had a check engine light on all of the time. Since I changed it out, the light isnt on any more. Just thought I should put that out there because I dont think I mentioned it.

IT LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took both batteries and the starter out to be test where I purchased them at and was told the batteries were good enough but the starter was shot. Luckily it was only 1 year old and was replaced free of charge( finally a stroke ok good luck ). Came home and reinstalled everything and she starts up. I drove her around for about 45 minites. The only thing is now it seems to crnk over several times before starting. The starter is spinning fast it just takes several revolutions to fire up. I think I am going to look for some info on how to test the HPOP. Any info you guys could through my way would be great. Thanks for all of the help. This is the most awsome site ever!!!!!!!
