Noisy problem fixed
Pulled the valve covers off my 351W Friday night to see which of my rockers was noisy. They were all ok, spark plugs all good, nothing burning oil. Turned valve covers upside down, and there they were, contact marks on the baffles inside the valve covers. My hammer modified the offending baffles and now, no more noise. So, to warn anyone else, 75-era valve covers do not clear the rockers on newer style heads without slight modifications.
