What I'm currently doing here is getting a feel on what cool bolt on's you PSD owners would like to see.
There is a company that is currenly working on these items, but really do not have a cost on them yet, that will depend on how many of these pieces people want,
1. Billit valve covers both powered coated and polished
2.Billit intakes with high flow chambers both poder coated and polished
3. Billit water neck
4. Billit under and over drive pullies
5. Maybe headers we are working on a set,
Now the all important part of this is the cost right, Well sence they have access to 4 CNC machines so we can do these less then you think.
Plus they can do then out of forged cast too
The other thing we are going to be looking at is the Dodge stuff too
Your input is vary important
At this point they are not trying to sell these on any web site or wholesaler just want to get a feel if there could be a market for them
plus in the next couple of weeks I will post some pictures of some prototypes of thse parts
You have any connection with this company? Reason I ask is because the site shouldn't be used for marketing surveys unless its paid for. Not making any accusations, just making sure.....
Ken,
Actually they aproached me on this, There will not be any selling of these parts on your site, or any others. Just a feel if people would want to see these items available for there trucks thats all. This is kinda a joint venture with this company and Fords aftermaket department, They are thinking on looking into that area, Like the SVO program that they have.
Ken if I have stepped over my boundries let me know, I just thought that some dress up parts for these motors would be cool
I think as much billet polished parts as possible would be great for our trucks and i think you would get a lot more replies if you would post them in the superduty heavyduty threads. I would definately buy some of those item provided they dont hurt performance and the cost is not to high.
I think my engine bay would look cool with silver intercooler pipes, and maybe a shiny fuel filter housing. You can't see the valve covers in mine, too much plumbing on top of them. Maybe a shiny cover for the radiator, alternator and Power steering pump, and shiny pipes for the AC and radiator.. Now you have got me thinking.. Bad idea
To clarify, I regard the '96 as my truck and the lariat as something that lives with us.

They are looking into all kinds of cool stuff but are not to sure if the market will bear it, every item that you guys have metioned has been passed on to them so far, but they all have to have a speical focus metting on every part, keeping in mind I will not be selling these items, I'm just helping them get a grip on the PSD market, Although they have a few companys that they are looking at to sell them too, but what they have said so far there are no final plans as of yet, They just want feed back.
I know the old saying that Chrome don't get you home. However with that being said. I agree with theologian. I also would really like to dress up the eng compartment with a few little bangles, but also will not let the performance suffer. I would like to see somthing for the small 7.3 Powerstroke cover on top of the motor. I think this could be an area that a lot of the folks would like to dress up some. I am part of the Alabama Custom Truck Club and there are several of us with the PSD's in the club. I know that there are a couple that spend a lot of money and time fixing up various little things with thier trucks. One guy even spent about 6K on just the sound system. He is single.
Just thought that I would stick my 2 cents in.:
I haven't heard of anyone installing headers on a Power Stroke. I don't think there's any demand for them.
Wrong answer. You haven't heard of anyone installing them because they don't exist.
What diameter tubing for the primaries? would the headers come with up pipes to the turbo? Coatings? The factory manifolds and up pipes are pretty much the only flow restrictions left in a PSD exhaust that can't be replaced by the aftermarket. People are having good luck with extrude honing and wrapping/coating the factory stuff, but some tubes would still flow better.
Just recently I have seen a couple of posts refering to an engine cover on powerstrokes.. What is this, where does it go, and I wonder who stole mine.. I have had the truck since mile 8, so it should have one.......
Your right, your truck should have had the cover theo. I haven't seen a powerstroke without the little cover. Cookie what do you think about a small cover shaped the same with the powerstroke embossed in stainless? Sounds nice to me:

The people I've heard from have said that it wouldn't make much of a performance gain on the Power Stroke having headers. I don't think people don't have them because they aren't available. If it made such a huge performance gain they would have been available a long time ago. Just because a performance item is great on a gas engine doesn't mean it has the same effect on a turbo diesel. Would the headers lead to the turbo? Seems like a waste of money.
