Since I am not going to have time to work on the 3/4 ton. I figured I would try to start this beast I just bought. I know the truck runs, I have driven it. It have been sitting for a few months now. I am buying gp's today so I can get it started. The master cylinder has been replaced, but the truck hasn't been started in order to bleed the brakes. If I can get it running and get it stopping I will just drive this one until I get my 3/4 ton done.
th cc lb he needs the extra the gvwl for cause he so big boned
I am not big boned joe....LOL I am only 190 and 6' tall. There aint nothing big on me. I am just a little fella! LOL That CC is eventually going to get my cummins stuffed in it. Along with some other things. That CC has been wrecked down the passengers side. Whoever had it had to weld the shock mount back to the frame. Looks like budweiser did it though. I have found another CC truck that I can snipe the frame and doors from. So eventually it is going to be torn down to the frame and built. My plans are the 12 valve with a ZF5 spd, np 205 double yolk with a brownie or gear vendor. Might be over kill stupid or not even possible. But I am going to venture down this journey and see what I come up with. I am thinking rear disc brakes with hydroboost brakes.
Hell yes!!! LOL I put 7 new zd9's in today. Couldn't get to the one under the turbo so I gave up. LOL Still no start. So I grabbed the wire off of the gp controller and just hot wired it to the battery....nothing. Went to oreillys and somehow found a connector that fits right on the top of the gp! Made up 7 jumper wires and tied those to one wire. Touched that to positive for about 6 seconds....and BOOM!!!!!!!!!! She busted right off!! So the one ton DOES RUN! I also replaced the fuel filter as well. Once the truck started I let it run for about an hour. In an hours time, I noticed a fuel leak under the engine cross member and ONE HELLUVA AN OIL LEAK! I bet I lost 1 quart just sitting there idling. It is pouring over the starter along the bell housing somewhere. I went ahead and drove it a mile up the road and back. Pulls hard to the left when you brake. Throttle doesn't work past a third of the pedal. Shifted perfectly. Got it stuck backing it up next to the barn, locked the hubs and put it in 4 low. CLANK CLANK CLANK!!!!!! Pulled hard and worked but damn was it loud! Shut it down smooth as silk. No noises, bucking or griping!!! Ran smooth, no misses, no knock, no nothing! So....LOL Looks like I need to give this girl some attention. I have NO IDEA why it would be leaking that much oil. No lights in the shop, so I couldn't see where the trail was coming from.
Check the oil sender on top of the engine at the back, guys have had issues with them leaking.
Sounds like either a GP controller, or at least a relay may be in order for ya.
The fuel leak on the cross member is likely a soft spot in the steel fuel line, and it will also let air in. Switch it out for rubber back to the selector valve and you'll fix that one cheap and easy.
Did you try 4hi and 4low? will help narrow it down whether it's in the driveshafts etc for the front, or the transfer case.
Try 4hi, if it persists, then chances are it's a u-joint in the front somewhere. If not, it's in the reduction part of the transfer case. You can also disconnect the hubs, and try both 4hi and low, this will narrow it down to whether it's something in the hubs or not.

Just process of elimination! Figure out what/when it makes the noise and when it doesn't, and that will help narrow down your search to a more specific area.
