Tuner/Programmer
What Tuned/Programmer does everyone suggest for a 5.4 Triton F250 SD? My trucks lifted with big tires and want to not only get nice performance boost from it, but would also like to be able to recalibrate my speedily and shift points.
I'm looking at the SCT Tuner...
Any thoughts.....

SCT tuners are good. You should talk to Mike at 5 Star. He will make you some custom tunes just for your truck. Just got mine Friday for my V10 and love it. 5startuning.com or call at (843) 250-0499.

An SCT from 5 Star works very well and thats what myself and my dad run. That said I highly doubt you will be able to recalibrate your speedo with the tuner. On certain SD strategy codes the speedo can be changed with the SCT but you can't on the majority of them. You will want something like the Superlift TruSpeed to adjust the speedo. The tuner will help but you have to do a gear swap to steeper gears to get the most benefit.

I would go with 4.56 gears as 4.30s will not be steep enough. If you did a lot of heavy towing 4.88s would be better but they are overkill for what you use your truck for. The 4.56s with 35" tires will give you an effective ratio around 4.17 which will work nicely for how you use your truck.
