I have a coolant leak near the passenger rear side of the engine. It's A 1999 5.4 in a f-250 I can't tell for sure if its the hard line for the heater hose or something else. On the picture i circled where i thing it may be coming from. Is it possible the intake is leaking back there. Where does the other heater hose hook up? I borrowed the pic as there is no way to see back in there with the intake on.
sorry to ask but, how did you know is coolant leak? did you find that last plug and gop with water?
I can see the coolant spray out when i start the truck. Also leaks out when i fill the tank. Just can't see if it is coming from between the intake and head of if there is a heater line that hooks up there. It does not look like its coming from the line that runs the length of the valley.
the other heater hose connects to a pressed in steel tube that goes into the intake manifold in the back just above where your red circle is in your picture. I've seen the tubes rot out but usually it is a heater hose. You need to use a collant presure tester and presurise the system and look for the leaks. don't forget to look at the headgaskets possibly leaking to the outside. Good luck.
