Vibration around 40MPH. Need help.
Need help. I have a 2002 Excursion with 7.3. Ran out of fuel a few weeks ago and after getting going again I noticed a vibration. It hits around 40MPH and the RPMs near the 1750 mark. Took it to the shop. They said U Joints and had front and rear replaced. They also scanned the engine but nothing has popped up. This is most noticable when Im excelerating and will go away when I back off of the pedal.
Not sure if it had this issue prior to the running out of fuel. Just happened to notice it that day. Any suggestions would be helpful. Have had to the dealer 4 times for this same issue.

The vibration and running out of fuel may not be related... ujoints are a good place to start. Do you still have the factory "sealed ones"? The one by the rear axle only lasted about 100k in my 99 f250. Otherwise it could also be a driveline angle...I currrently have a vibration at 40 and about 75 mph and am almost certain it is from not replacing shims that were between the rear axle and the factory spacer blocks.

The mechanic thought Ujoints and I had him replace them. Im wondering if its the Torque Converter as I think it may be a the locking stage around that speed. I have 169,000 miles on the Truck and this is the only real issue I have had with it. So cant complain.
