coolant in the valley

Hello, thanks to anyone up front for the help. I have a 97 or 98 model f150 that developed a coolant leak. The valley of the motor is full of antifreeze. Coolant is leaking down the rear of the engine on the passenger side. I have searched and looked at the posts about the heater core hose. Is this the most likely cause? Or intake manifold leak?

thanks, james

Men just put finger at hoses that you think may leak and see if they are wet.

will have to try to remove the coolant first. The valley looks like it has over an inch of coolant in it.

The heater core hose that runs through the valley is completely covered in coolant.

there are two lines in the valley that could have a leak.. there is also an aluminum crossover tube at the front of the intake manifold from one side to the other, over the alternator. The gasket on the crossover to the bottom of the manifold on the passenger side is an area of concern. See if you can see any wetness by #1 plug or injector.-- thats what i had.... i will post a couple photos of the valley and the manifold- crossover gasket (o-ring) that was leaking... look at the VEE and you can see the two tubes that could also be a problem... my valley was full also.

thank you Steve for the link. I had searched and read that thread earlier. Good information. Is the 4.6L and 5.4l setup on the crossover the same? Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me.
