i posted this question in the excursion section, then seen this section,so...i have a v10 X..and i need the std studs replacement deal, and i might have a cracked manifold too..so..if i do i seen the headers on ebay for 150-200 for a pair..my question is how do they fit?
im sure they dont have the egr tube fitting,so what do you do for that?
would it be better or worse for a towing, light modded v10 to use these,or go manifolds? thanks in advance,i have learned a LOT here since i bought the green tank on turkey day...thx,mike
You get what you pay for. If you don't want to spend much get a set of the Hedmans. The come with the new y-pipe also so they get rid of the stock monstrocity.

I put the 2wd headers on my 4wd, had the same issues as everyone else. They really woke the truck up while towing, this was the last piece after I put a a 5 star tune and y pipe mod. Our camper is about 8500lbs and we always go up the on the rim from phoenix, which is 7000' elevation in 125 miles. The headers made a big difference, it really wanted to pull 3500rpm+ where as before it really wanted to lay over that.

I agree completely. If I could go back and do it over again - I'd go Hedman.
I can say that after notching my pass. side frame for installation and repairing (re-welding) my drivers side eBay header after only 8-10k.
Stay away from the EBay headers!!! It took (2) sets before i finally got some that that didnt leak water when i water tested them before installation. Now...1200 miles later the set that was installed is leaking! It seems the problem areas on all the sets i have had are where the primary tubes go into the collector in between all the other primary tubes. They cant be welded on the truck so they have to be removed and if i am goin that far then something else is going on.
I know the Ebay headers look nice but i just wasted a whole bunch of money and now i am going to have to spend more to replace them again!!!
*** Stay away from the Ebay headers and buy a qaulity domestic made set ***
Thanks,

PS-O'h and most importantly i couldnt tell a difference over the stock manifolds
