I am scary low on coolant. When I bought the truck it was below the MIN line and about 1-2 months ago my water pump started leaking. Well now I'm very low.
Can I add something to boost the coolant level or will I be ok? I am waiting for my first paycheck (next Friday) so I can fix this goin to get a new pump and do a full flush with ELC. But I don't want to go buy $50 of coolant just to dump it out in a week. So can I add water or some kind of other coolant until then? Or will I be good?
Just add a gallon of the 50/50 premix, or since you are in California, just pour a gallon of distilled water in it. You don't need the sweat freezing, and that won't dilute your coolant enough to hurt the hot protection as our trucks don't hardley overheat. It will get you by for a few weeks.
