This should help anyone adding cab lights to a truck that did not come with them.

I can only assume that the wiring harness and plugs are there on all trucks as the wiring harness also has the wires for the side air bags???

Thanks
I was wondering about the other post

On trucks without factory lights, there is no harness, it needs to be added.

I purchased recons lights which had thier own harness, just plugged into the cab light fuse.

OH, OK, my bad.
Best to get the recons with the harness then.

I figured as the wiring diagram showed the light and side air bags in the same harness it would be there.

Sorry if I led anyone down the wrong path.

This is a great thread! I ordered my lights from Recon yesterday morning and they are in route via Fedex right now. I should get them by Friday and will install them on Saturday.

darren32,

diagrams are helpful.
There are basically two options for those without factory lights.
Go the Recon route with lights and wires or buy the factory lights and wiring harness.

There is a wiring harness in the non factory cab light trucks, it connects to the airbags and sat radio puck. You just need to order the complete harness for factory cab lights and it replaces the non factory harness with the addition of the leads for the lights. Plug and play replacement.

That makes sense then. hdslider confirmed that on the C913 plug the ye-gn and bk-wt are missing on the other side of the plug. Here is the plug view and location.

It's too bad they didn't put the full harness in all the trucks. But like you say, there are still a couple of options and a pretty easy install.

Thanks

I had the same issue when I installed mine last weekend. However I did find the YE-GN wire in the harness going along the drivers side of the truck. Here is a link from my install where I took pictures of that: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post11362542
