i got my 2000 f-250 about 3 months ago and i noticed today that i turned off the truck with the lights still on and there was no chime. do these trucks not have one or is there a fuse that controls that. when i looked back my lights were on but no chime
thanks
-Justin
well, they do have one... i have thought many times of unhooking mine.... i couldnt tell you if they have a fuse or anything, it should just plug in by the fuse panel. maybe yours is either missing (previous owner) or just doesnt work.
i understand your worries.... i just double checked mine, and it is in a black box located directly on the back side of the fuse panel. there is a snap on cover, so i couldnt see exactly which one it is, but hopefully that will help you look in the right direction. good luck !!
I've got to believe that a previous owner has disabled the chime.
Must have been someone like me thats the first thing I do to a new vehicle, NO buzzers, bongers, chimes, or beepers. I also take out the dome light and rear cab light bulbs.
I've disabled the lights-on dinger in my 2000, because it annoys me.
I'm guessing it was disabled the same way I disabled mine, so if you want to hook it back up, try pulling the headlight switch, and see if there's a white wire with red stripe that is disconnected or snipped. That was the wire I pulled to disable the dinger for the lights.
