I have a 99 super duty 7.3 no start no wts light spray either and it starts all fuses are good but wts light will not come on, does anyone have a diagram of the pcm and the heater bowl furl, even replace relays off of another truck to see if it would fix it but no luck any help would be greatful thanks
If you don't have a WTS light, you probably have a burnt out bulb. The WTS light is controlled by the PCM and is independent of any starting aid.
Have you checked the glow plug relay to verify it is powering up the glow plugs? That is the first step to try.
If the GPR is working and you have good glow plugs, you need to check the starter and the batteries. Since you say it starts with starter fluid (which is bad for diesels) you may have weak batteries or a worn out starter. When they get weak the engine does not crank over fast enough for the HPOP to get the minimum 500 PSI to tell the IDM to fire the injectors. You can try unplugging the ICP sensor to see if it will start. If it does, you are having issues with low RPM on crank. Don't discount newly replaced batteries or starters......I have seen many posts where people ignored good advice to only find out it was a recently replaced item that was causing the issue.
Did you check the fuses with a test light, or just look at them? No WTS light would indicate the PCM is not gettting power.
Do you get any smoke out the tail pipe when attempting to start? Smoke indicates the injectors are fireing.
thank you woodnthings i did check the gpr they are getting power but weak and i did check all the fuses and they are ok just need to checkthe pcm to see if it is working thanks again
