Hi,all . Newbee here, will a1966 f-800 cab fit as a replacement for 1962 f-100?
F350 and up cab used the earlier cab design. If you open the door and see an obvious step there it will or should work. If no step or slight step refer to Jowilkers advice. The roof line may differ on a 66 also. The 61-63 used a flatter roofline with no relief indents. If you dont mind that the floor is the more critical of the two differences.
The F800 cab may have what is called the high roof about six inches higher than a normal roof line. It may also have cab mount extensions to allow it to bolt to the F800 frame mounts.
The F350 will be a direct replacement with one exception. You will need to use the 65 66 heater box that came with those year cabs and the fresh air duct. Earlier cabs have the pull type door on the passenger side where as the 65 66 has a triangular manual door and a square to round fresh air duct if equipped.
The cab search is going on in the kansas city area. My friend is trying to build a 62 f-100 short flairside with a gasser look, while staying usefull. Thanks,i'll pass on the Arizona cab info, he's crazy enough, who know's? I am without anything older than my 91 f-250 460 efi. Itching to get back in it if I can find the right truck. Bye for now, Jack in KC.
