I already have EGT Boost and trans. temp in my pillar. Im one of those guys who likes to know whats going on with my ruck, like Im sure most of you guys are.
My plans are to get another EGT guage and put it in the pass. side manifold, and route both EGTs up to a 3 guage pod above the rear view mirror and move my boost guage up there too in between the two. After that I wanna get a fuel pressure guage and mount some where around my ESOF switch. My trans temp will stay in the pillar along with a new oil pressure guage. If theres any guages that I left out let me know, I think volts and water temp are covered by the factory guages.
When it comes time for me to buy the new guages what I dont know is how high/low our fuel pressure should be or oil pressure??? How high does the oil pressure get? Last but not least is there a way to put a guage in the oil lines on the HPOP to I can keep an eye on my HPOP life? Any input is appreciated Thanks
caly sells a hpop gauge.
fuel psi 62
oil 10-80 psi
oil temp is good if you live in a cold area.
i have dual egt gauge and there all was spot on, but i like it that way
Go with an electronic HPOP gauge. It just pigtails into the ICP sensor. Very easy install. You don't want a mechanical gauge or it's plumbing to burst. Remember the HPO can reach 3000 PSI and more.
I have an aftermarket coolant temp gauge because the factory coolant temp gauge does not appear linear but will move in steps. Cold, warm, hot and TFL.
A small digital volt meter that plugs into the power point is inexpensive and worth having.
Thanks for all the suggestions and info. If you were running a high hp engine what other guages would you guys recommend. Im planning on some new mods that involve pulling the engine and a complete tear down Ive got my list and Im checking it twice
I decided to go with the Aeroforce Scan gauge. It was more money than most other gauges, but I have a full variety of gauges and can read codes too. It is one of my favorite goodies that I have added to my truck. You can set it to toggle through specific parameters too. I added fuel pressure and oil pressure sensors to mine for even more cool things to watch.
