Stopped in at a junk yard that tends to carry more of the older stuff.
Found two 94's with factory turbo's, one complete, one missing the filter box and also the oil feed line. The one was a standard, with the tranny already removed. The other one has an E40D and transfer case. I ended up making a package deal for both engines with turbos, the E40D, transfer case, and the steering column and brake pedal assembly out of the standard. (I happen to know someone on here looking for those.)
They think the motor in one is seized, and the other one is good. Guess I'll figure it out in a week or two when I get them home. (Working wayyy too many hours these days!)
I've got to start doing some serious wrenching soon, one to get caught up on the project list, two, my 'engine hoist' (my 15 ton Case excavator) is actually home for a while between jobs, while I'm working on other sites with other equipment.
Are the 94 speedos interchangeable with the '88 dash? I've got an E4OD and I gotta solve the speedo issue yet. Either I need to get a transfer case and run cable speedo, or get electronic speedo and run the transfer case I have. I think swapping the speedo is the cheapest. Otherwise was considering putting in an aftermarket electronic speedo in the stock speedo location.
I think you missed it Star, I grabbed another bunch of stuff, including an IP recently in another junkyard score. If I can figure out some indoor storage space for all my parts, I'm going to start stripping down some parts trucks etc here soon and getting this stuff better organized.
You're becoming a serious parts collector, grey! I'm hoping I know who wants the column and pedals... lol.
If you ever see a Cummins 4BT on your JY expeditions I'll be down there the next AM!
Yeah but I blew up my '88 tcase I'm still running a C6 so I dropped in an NP205 but that won't work with the E4OD. Plus my cable speedo sometimes stops working periodically so was hoping to remedy that in one pass.. ahh well.
No you can't have the 4BT in my excavator! I may know where I can find one though.....I'll try to make some calls and see what might be available.
Swoosh, you kinda lost me....but doesn't the electronic speedo's get their info from the rear axle instead of the transfer case/tranny like the older mechanical ones? I can't remember what truck you have for sure, so I'm kind of guessing at what you're trying to do.
