Just started working on a 1999 ranger, im curious does anyone know how to turn the interior light on without opening the door. I cant find a switch or anything. Just annoying when driving in dark.
Welcome to FTE. This is a great site for all things Ranger.
There is a dimmer control for the instrument panel lights either by turning the headlight switch **** or close by the headlight switch you will find a wheel that you can turn. Turn the **** or wheel to the far end of its travel and the dome light will come on. I don't remember which way to turn the **** or wheel to do this. If turning it one way doesn't do it, try turning it the other way.
Let us know how you make out.

Reason: Added info.
see the lights are not on the actual wheel, its a little **** thing like the heat control and its on the far left side, by the vent, and theres only three settings, off day running and full lights on.

Correct, now turn the lights on. Then turn the dimmer wheel to where the instrument lights are at their brightest and keep turning until the dome light comes on...
i tried that now but once the intrument panel is at the brightest the reel doesnt go any further. maybe there isnt a way to turn them on when driving. wierd
