I currently have LT235-85-R16 tires on my stock 93 f250 but have a set of brand new LT265-75-R16 that I was thinking of putting on the ford. Can I use that size of tire, and if so how would that affect the truck? All help appreciated
i have 265's on the back of my truck and they work fine. i have the 235's on the front. if you are 4x4 then the 265's might be fine up front but if 2wd they would be to close to the bumper for comfort or they would rub.
I know, but I don't think you would have any clearance problems on the front.
I haven't owned a two wheel drive for a lot of years though, so I could be way wrong.
The tire is about the same height (both approx 31.7 inch diam), so just take your current tires and see what 15 mm wider would do for clearance, inside and out, and with wheels turned left and right. I am pretty sure you have a lot of room and will be no problem. The wider tire will be a very slight decrease in mileage, but you probably could not detect enough normal driving. It will look wider for apeparacne which in my opinion looks better, the stock 235 are too narrow.
