Hello all,
I have recently taken the AC system apart in order to replace the orifice tube, however, when i went to remove the tube I broke the very first part. is there an easier way to remove this thing? Please help, I would like to get her all back together soon.
He broke the tip of the o-tube off. There is actually a special tool for dealing with this, but you've already broken it. In the past I have been able to carefuly screw in a long wood screw, like a deck screw actually and pull it that way. If it does not come out, or if you damage the evap, you can get an evaporator repair kit from a decent parts store. You end up cutting the evap discharge tube off just below the o-tube and clamping the kit in place, or you can replace the evap. You may want to try pouring in some kind of solvent to eat some of the gum up, but either way you WILL HAVE TO flush the evap out.
