Clutch Problem
Im having trouble with my clutch. I had no pedal unless i pumped it up. I also was not losing any fluid. So i assumed it was the clutch master cylinder. I searched around how to install it. I first bench bled it. Then installed it i pumped up pedal and bled all air out and bam awesome pedal. The next morning i came out and pedal was crappy again. So I thought more air. I bled it out and got like foamy air filled fluid and it was good again. Then it did samething again and again and again. No matter how much i bleed it its good for awhile then goes away. My question is how could i still be getting air in? Wouldnt it be leaking fluid if there were air getting in? Can it be the slave cylinder if even no it aint leaking fluid. Maybe the new master cylinder was bad from factory. Any help would be great.
Which slave do you have?
Sounds like a pesky air pocket, or a bad slave. With the sound of it, id be more comfortable sayin its a bad slave, since it wont work well after sitting overnight. Also, it is normally a sure sign that the master is bad if you depress the clutch pedal, it works for a sec, then the clutch starts to engage as the fluid blows by back into the res. Start by bleeding, and ensuring the bleed method is appropriate. Again, which slave style is it?

so youre bleeding it @ the bleed port through the trans housing? the slave could be leaking so slow (blowby on the piston) that it never actually leaks. . .or leaks so slow that it seems as though it doesnt leak. a slow enough leak past the piston in the slave wont put enough pressure on the seal to actually cause blowby past the seal, however, given enough time (like overnight) the pressure that is held in the system (albeit slight, its like a "prime") will be lost and youll have to slap the pedal a bit to pump it back up. ive seen this numerous times on entirely different vehicles. of course, bein that its internal, ya better make sure its bled well and the master isnt bad (i dont think it is from your descriptions) before ya crack it open just for a slave replacement.
