I also love the sync. But I had not registered my info on the web site son that I could download all my info via the phone. It states it will give a vehicle health report and I didn't know what that entails or if it was worth the trouble. Then there was the cynic in me that wonders do I want someone to be able to pull data from the truck
Cheers
I know the dealer set up the online account for Sync for me but I have never logged into it or tried it out. The vehicle health report I attempted to run once or twice but something else must be done for that to be available. I think the basic 911 service is active as long as you have your phone paired.
I went to the site today and if I understand it right it eventually takes a paid subscription to use for tracking health of your truck.I do all my own maintenance anyway. I may be wrong but I am not going to pay if it takes that. I already pay for satellite radio. I really like the phone features in the vehicle and use them all the time.
I don't think it requires any payment. I used it once for both my 2011 F250 and 2011 Explorer without paying anything. I didn't see any value with the health report so haven't generated any more of them.
In order to compete with GM's Onstar, Ford created, among other things, "Sync Services". One of the neat features of it is business search. If you say "business search" when connected to sync services, and then say a business, like "Wal-Mart in Topeka, KS", it will find it. Then you can say "driving directions", and if you have the nav unit in your truck, it will send the turn by turn info to the nav unit. I've used it a plethora of times and have found it immensely helpful.
