working on a 6.0 powerstroke at work(cat dealer) its one of our service trucks. replaced oil cooler, egr cooler and egr valve. truck was hard to start right after repairs. started and idled good. when first taking it for a ride, the engine and turbo spooled up as it should. but it felt like the truck was being held back. back to shop n check a few things. again idled and reved up fine. took it for another ride, truck took off like it should. got up to about 60mph at WOT, let off and the truck shut up. now its a crank/no start. i have about 580psi to the icp at crank. swapped ficm with a running truck with no luck. any ideas?
Here's a good checklist for a no-start. You can speed read thought the first part but always worth going over and it gets to the "meat and taters" pretty quick:
the screen is in the ipr valve? im not gonna bother taking the valve apart company will just buy a new one just want to make sure i replace everything while i have it apart. any other info? thanks!!
recommend replacing anything else while i have it apart? companys paying for parts and id rather not have to take it back apart haha. the screen on the ipr valve was ripped but i thought i remembered seeing something about a snap to connect fitting that it prone to fail in the HPOP?
yeah 580icp is what i was told by our shops "truck mechanic" i rechecked it with my scanner and came up with 65icp...pulled the ipr and the screens got a hole. just wondering if anyone suggests replacing anything else while i have the turbo out. just replaced EGR valve and cooler, oil cooler and all neccesary gaskets and orings. now ordering up a IPR valve.. anything else?
