Diesel Prices

The thought of buying a new diesel truck and looking at the fuel prices here in California is really disheartening.

How is it that diesel is even more than Supreme unleaded!!!!

I looked today at Arco and the diesel was $4.09 a gallon!!

When I bought my 1st SuperDuty diesel was 30cents a gallon cheaper than regular gas. Today I'm seeing diesel at $1.00 MORE than regular.

I don't think the people in control understand some of the questions we ask.
Nipperdog started a similar prices topic last week.
Has various prices from members across North America.

I agree. When I bought my truck last September there was a 30 cent spread between regular unleaded and diesel. There is a 60 - 70 cent spread today in the Houston area. If the spread stays like this it will cost around $3800 more for diesel over 100,000 miles. Coupled with the $8000 additional cost for the engine, it would be hard to justify the purchase today.

With all of that said, I really enjoy the truck and although I do don't do any heavy pulling, I know that I could.

It is just crazy for fuel in California. It is one of the things I dislike most about my state...and especially when I think about filling up a 35 or 50 gallon tank!

We are hovering in the $3.75 - $3.79 range. It jumped .25 cents a gal last week

Regular ($3.15) went down in my area and Diesel went up, not sure why, we aren't in a state that use's a lot of heating fuel either.

$8000 for the diesel option? You might want to find another dealer...
My diesel option was $6500

Filled up last Friday and paid $5.05 (adjusted from liters to US gal). The market price increases to accommodate demand for heating oil regardless of the state or province you live in. What can we say or do. It is what it is.

Get in line, NY is just as bad. We are $4.09 also. At least our housing costs are a lot lower.

Right now, $4.19 is the lowest I can find it here in Central California. BUT, I didn't buy the truck for the great gas mileage!

The biggest complaint that I have is that the tank is too small! On those long trips when hauling a trailer, at 11-12 mpg with a 26 gal tank, I gotta stop too much. My wife likes it though because then she unfill her bladder while I fill up the beast.
