I would definitely like a bigger fuel tank too. 26 gal is pretty small for a truck this size. I'd cry if I was paying what I see others post for diesel. Locally it is $3.55 and been holding there for weeks. Even then, I'm still getting paid mileage ($.505/mile) on top of my hourly pay a lot of the time. It certainly helps!
Diesel went up .15 at the cheap place. Stupid heating oil and gas went down. It sucks because for me diesel usually stays around 4.00-4.09 here doesn't ever move much. Until now, not to mention winter diesel is killing the fuel mileage i get.
Diesel is in demand by people and businesses that NEED to pull or carry large loads efficiently. A gasser will pull 12k lbs (rating of a 6.2 L F350), but it will do it at 8 mpg, while a diesel will do it at 11 mpg. There is currently NO substitute for diesel trucks and very few options for replacing diesel locomotives.
So, those people/companies are a captive market. The have NO other choice, other than to close up shop if they don't wanna play and pay.
52 cent premium over regular in south Jersey today. I can't understand while diesel is so high as there should be a hell of alot of it floating around if the economy (trucking) and construction are as bad as they say it is. This "surplus" should be even bigger given how common oil to gas swamps are for residential and industrial applications here in the north east.
The only thing that may be upsetting the supply and demand basis which should be bringing the price down is that there is a pretty lucrative market for exporting it to Europe, which can't get enough of it. I've seen some presentations where some companiesare targeting this market.
Hopefully the big push to move heating and truck/bus fleets to natural gas as the shale gas comes on line will drive down demand and bring the prices difference down with them over the lifetime of my '11. Fingers crossed!

Hmmmm...I wonder if I can set up a Toyota Prius to tow my 4000 lb. boat to the lake??!:-:-
I hate to break it to you, Prince, but if you bought your 6.7L Super Duty to tow a 4,000 lb boat you already have WAY too much truck. I mean...a Ford Flex will tow your boat, and THIS TRUCK will do it without breaking a sweat and STILL get 21 MPG empty on the highway. 21 MPG @ 3.19/gal here in Wisconsin.
I sold my car hauler, and that's why I traded my 6.7L truck. I miss it badly, but in this day and age it was too much to justify just to haul myself to and from work every day.
Just my thoughts, I hope you love yours as much as I loved mine!
It used to be that one could justify the added cost of the diesel engine because over the long run it would pay for itself though the lower cost of fuel and increased efficiency. The rise in cost of diesel over gas has eliminated that justification.

Tom,
I agree if I were just buying a truck for pulling the boat I would just get a F150 Ecoboost which I have had my heart set on for quite some time. However my wife does want to eventually have a nice 5th wheel trailer and I am planning for the future with the truck I will need for that. I know the 6.7 PSD will pull that 4,000 lb. boat like it wasn't even there and I am really glad about that. I know I will absolutely love this truck.
Sorry you don't have your truck and that you miss it. I have been kicking around the idea of selling my Goldwing that I love for the first time in my life. I have been riding motorcycles for many years now and I am just now beginning to think more about the "what if's" about riding these days.
Today in Lafayette, IN: 87 Octane 2.99 Diesel 4.25. That's the biggest spead I've ever seen. Then again, I recall that around Thanksgiving last year 'they' dropped the price of gas; in my mind just to encourage people to spend for Christmas.
I paid $4.09 yesterday morning here in Central California but when I drove by the same non-branded station that afternoon it was $4,19. Geez, a 10 cent increase in one day. . . give me a break!
