That looks really nice. I just looked at the Dennis Carpenter catalog...If I use the stock headliner for my 52, I'd have to cut the back pieces out for the bigger back window. Maybe that's the headache part of the stock headliner. I'm willing to give it a try if it'll look as good as yours!
I installed the same headliner in my F5 last year. I had heard all the horror stories about how 'hard' it was to install but decided to use it just the same. Contrary to what I had heard, I felt that it went in much easier than expected and was very happy with it. I have also received numerous compliments on it.
My biggest concern about this headliner was the 'extra' shipping cost the retailers warned about, so I ordered it from Classic Haulers and arranged to pick it up on a trip to Indianapolis.
When I was at the GSM F100 Run in June, I had a guy spend a lot of time examining the headliner and taking pictures of it. When he was done, he approached me and asked me if I had installed it myself. After I explained to him about my buddy and I doing it, he asked me about all the stories about it being so hard. When I assured him that I had followed the instructions and didn't understand the complaints, he smiled, shook my hand and thanked me. It was at that point that he informed me that he was from Dennis Carpenter and wanted an honest opinion on the headliner.
The Dennis Carpenter catalog says $175. I think they tack $50 on to the regular shipping cost.
Blue Oval has them on sale now for $170, and they charge $80 to ship so the prices are comparible. There isn't a picture on the Blue Oval site. Headliner & Kick Panel Kit - Gray
