I have been sending oil samples to Blackstone for many years from different high performance and fleet engines. I work for a major railroad and the mechanical side routinely samples oil from thousands of locomotives in our fleet for analysis.
When I first bought my 6.0 truck I started sending them samples at 3k, and at 3k intervals after that. The first couple samples scared the hell out of me! I was convinced I had an injector hanging open or something, although it ran perfect and wasn't 'making' oil. After a while I realized all my friends and family with 6.0's were running about the same fuel dilution, which was so much more than the 7.3 trucks, but improved greatly over time, in comparison to when they were new.
I have owned my 2003 since 2005 and 40K miles. It now has 145K miles and I have done a Blackstone lab analysis about once a year. I have never had a fuel dilution over 2% so go figure.
