Have we all ran out and got our big snow tires on yet or shall we wait till they are back - ordered !!!!!
I think we are going to get it good at some point this year, then again who cares we are toast 2012 Mayan calender. But Ford is ready for 2013 so I think they have one up on the Mayans.
So can we come up with a better plan for Arthur 2012 eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh
YES, we need to be better organized. There was SO much confusion last year no one knew what was really going on.I think we should meet at the beer tent and have a FTE banner or sign of some sort to get the attention of the members who don't know one another. I don't know if it's possible to have our trucks all in one area, but it would be nice to see if it can be arranged with the organizers. That's just my thoughts on it. John
This is an up date on my build. I have ordered front and rear sway bars from Addco, waiting for the machinest to finish my 400 short block, tranny is getting ALL new pieces, e40d forward planetary gears and the rear is getting 3.70 gears. I am even looking at a 32" Lokar shifter. Getting the final engine pieces from Comp Cams ( push rods, roller cam etc.) The old girl and my son bought me a performer 400 for Xmas. These thing should keep me busy over the winter, and, with any luck BE at Arthur 2012. John
Good for you, really nice to see your still alive and to start a COUPLE of new bussiness' WOW!! that shows a lot of gumption. NAW no body wants an OLDER dude telling a younger buck that he's wrong. Especially when he has really bad knees and dieabeties. BUT I do have some contract work that is paying for the 77s resurection. This stubborne old SOB will NOT give in to old age or the thoughts of getting old to anyone. Well nice hearing from you again and keep in touch with the group even if it's just to say hi. John
I'm sure if we tell George that all of us are a club, we can park together.
Hey Farmer glad to hear you were busy, pop in more and leave a Midnight Message.
WOOO HOOOO, Just got an e-mail from my machinest. John your short block is READY. I'm going to pick it up in the morning. That has been a long haul, getting it ALL together with all the right parts, ARP studs top and bottom bushed rods 351C flat tops TMI cam bearings Aussie double roller timing chain and gears the big gear has a timkin roller bearing machined right into it. Sorry guys and gals about the long post, I'm just SOOOOOO happy to have THAT part done. John
CAUTION!!!! Never Never try to take a 300lb short block off the back of a ram 2500 by your self......OUCHY. That was last Friday A M and I'm still hurting. I WILL not do that ever again. But I got it on the engine stand ready to put all the go fast parts that I have on it. The roller cam is on it's way so the rest is good to go. The next project is the C6 and the 9" I will post some pics if you guys and gals would like to see the results. John
I remember pulling an engine out with my brother by hand, no hoist. But I was younger and it was a Toyota LOL
Now I try and work smarter. Problem is I'm not always smart and the older you get the longer it takes to heal!
Rather than lifting out that shortblock did you consider the redneck unloading method? Thats where you drop the tailgate , punch the throttle in reverse and then slam on the brakes.
Kidding aside, glad you got things coming together.
