Went Junkyarding this weekend and couldnt help myself. i ended up pulling the cruise control off of a 1979 f350 ranger camper special with an automatic. my question is will this work with my 1977 f250 crew cab with a 4 speed. i got everything from it but the instrument panel was already out of it. now im worried because i was looking around today and keep hearing about upper and lower cruise control speedometer cable. any help or advice appreciated.
I don't really like to be negative but after all i just went through to get my fatory installed cruise working i would put it all in a box and ship it to me! No really, if you have everything and the electrical background it will be a challenge. That's if it would even work with the standard trans. Did you get the steering wheel, horn pad and the directional switch? It's also wired into the brake system and the device that's in between the upper and lower speedo cables! I'll be looking for that box! If i were you i would direct my energy, time and cash to something that would be moe useful, i fixed mine only because it was factory installed. Hope that helped.
yeah i got all the horn and directional switches. i talked to a guy who did the same thing. he got a conversion for the speedo said the rest is not to difficult. thanks
The donor English was a 460 and I have a 400. I believe it was factory with being in harnessand the box and connections had Ford numbers. How can you tell.

you need that sensor/module?? that the lower speedo cable screws into to monitor/sense the speed and the shorter speedo cable from there to the instrument cluster, fear not...I have been told that some/most cars utilize the same parts..nice score good luck w/ the set up...I will be watching for the results
hijack/sidenote: post up a pic of the truck I am re-doing the same crew, just that my 4wd 77 crew had the frame stretched for the 8' bed
