Hey guys,
I've been touching up the trim in the cabin and noticed the chrome on the cabin overhead light had faded to greenish. I hit with an SOS/brillow pad and discovered that the bezel is plastic and the chrome was some kind of coating or paint. I bought Krylon chrome spray paint, and painted the bezel, but it looks flat and not very shiny. Any suggestions? How do I obtain a chrome-reflective finish? I have tried buffing it out with lens polish and can't tell much difference. Is more sanding the answer, or do I need some kind of silver/chrome leaf to apply to the plastic? Thanks for the suggestions.
You can just buy a new one from LMC Truck. Its like $20 IIRC. There are very few spray on products that will get a chrome like finish that I know of, and they are all very pricey.
I agree with both the previous comments, the closest ive ever seen was the "silver" color paint with a good clear coat creates the gloss look but never reach chrome.
