Cab off in driveway
Hey Guy's
I'm a long time reader and never really had to join but have recently blown my head gasket and have decided to do it myself.I thought i would upload a couple pic's to my album of the cab slung and being lifted off with folding crane.It's not the safest way but the only way i could afford to do it.So she's in my garage and the heads are coming off this week, is there any thing i can change on the 03 that i should update internally while i have everything apart aside from the regular egr,oil cooler.I noticed the oil rail is different and the intake is joined at the back can these be updated to an 04 style?

Wow you werent kidding you got th cab off
If you can get a pic of the crane setup that you used Im just curios thanks
I assume your going back in with ARP headstuds and OEM headgaskets
might want to throw an oil cooler at it

No Pics of the crane, buddy snuck the work truck home.I had more but the pictures wouldn't upload for some reason.It was a 5ton International Durastar with a hiab folding crane.We carefully used a floor jack on the running board mounts and blocked it up bit by bit until it was roughly 4inches off the frame.We then got the crane in place and lifted it off carefully.If you get the right angle you can just stinger out and it works great.I hope it's that easy putting it on.Yes, arp heads studs,new oil cooler maybe maybe IPR high flow, egr delete and coolant filtration.
Cab off makes it a lot easier.
