quick 4x4 hub question

quick 4x4 hub question
2000 f350 4x4 i know my u axle u joint is toast its real loose now my question is when i grab it and shake it the joint is loose and I'm getting play loose in hub side of the axle where it gos in the hub is that a indication of a bad hub or just u joint??
