Hub issues....still
04 f-350 4x4 125k
So I took the truck in to check out a loose hub on the passenger side a few weeks ago. It worked still. locks and unlocks, but it wobbles a bit when you grab on to it and shake it. Driver side does not move around.....anyway, was told bearrings were bad on one side, but had both redone.
This morning was greasing fittings and checking fluids and what not...noticed the hub still wobbles a bit. Inspected a bit more, and noticed the u-joints on the back side of the hub had play in them, both sides, pass and driver. Its not really the actual u-joint, but the whole assembly coming from the hub side. I hope this makes sense!! Were the bearings not done correctly??? Is this something different from the bearings....

The hub assembally is a independant unit from the axle shaft.The only way I know of checking hub is to jack up one wheel at a time and check for any play side to side.There should be none.As far as the axle play,I believe a little play is normal,in the shaft that is.Not in the u-joint.
