IPR QUESTION ON CLEANING

95 f-350, took the ipr out and cleaned it the instructions said the small plunger in the pilot valve should push in about an 1/8' and pop back out. Mine does not even stick out 1/8" and it will not push in it is solid. Someone else told me there is supposed to be a ball under the plunger but I did not find one or I lost it. Anyone know what it should be like.

Thanks for the picture, I need to know if that small needle valve should be able to be pushed into the pilot valve and pop back out mine is solid when you try and push it into the pilot valve and since mine is solid does that mean the insides of the pilot valve are hung up and do not move.

Save a window, smash the parts on the driveway, huh Mike?

Explain to me what parts in the picture should move in and out a little?

I've fixed quite a few things with a BFH......as for the ipr, blow out the larger pieces with compressed air and before assembly lubricate with some fine oil, best to replace the o rings on it before reinstall .Good luck!!

You don't have to but it helps. To be honest I don't know if cleaning helps when I pulled mine apart at 200k it was spotless

ive seen the newer rebuild kits have a screen on the tip that sticks into the hpop side. The new o ring kit is highly recommended when removed. These things get clogged and often cause a no start situation as the hpop oil system tends to not get changed when doing a routine oil change. The only way is to pull the oil up out of the hpop fill hole.
