C6 trans will compresson brake in stock form. Infact so will a E4OD.
not like this transmission they wont. The valvebody is specifically a compression braking valve body.
I've got rear tires to churp dropping gears in autos b4...
Rur rig looks capable enough. I'd swap out the front spool is all. They just ask for broken parts
spool is most reliable, and with a fully built front end/full hydro is a great option for an offroad only vehicle. I pull my slugs out if I need to drive on the street for extended periods.

Hogans is a **** hole from what I've heard.
Clayton is probably the most hardcore wheeling I've ever done. Its an awesome place.

It's been a couple years since I've been to Hogans, I don't know what it's current condition is but it was cool then. Hogans is really just a campsite by the dam at Grand lake. Grand Lake has rock crawling, hill climbs, trails, mud, deep water crossings and more.
As for compression braking an auto, my 76 with a 460/C6 had great compression braking when I down shifted manually while towing trailers, and my 2000 Harley F150 has good compression braking when down shifted manually as well.
