Hey guess have a quick question and want some opinions. (2006 6.0 4x4 c/c) I deleted the muffle a few months ago and then bought a cat delete pipe. Took the cat off and the cat delete pipe did not fit to stock exhaust as promised. Found another one that will fit. My question is will it hurt my engine to run around for a week or less with just the turbo down pipe? It was a pain getting the CAT off and really don't want to try put it back on then to just take it off in a week. Just want some thoughts so I don't screw up my motor.
It wont hurt it one bit but you might smell some exhaust in the cab. That's about it. Just make sure the downpipe is braced somehow so it doesn't vibrate and flex under engine torque. I don't think those v clamps are that tough.
i agree. to be on the safe side, i'd run it after u reconnect the rest of the pipe. less chance for issues. i'd err on the side of caution, but tats me. ur fine wif wat u got right now.
Thanks for the information guys. I ran around for 5 days until the correct CAT delete came in. Sounded awesome but was really loud cruising around but now with the muffler/cat delete the cab ride is much nicer but has that nice whistle at idle and that V8 rumble at wot.
