Help with alternator wireing

I have a 92 with a 7.3 from a 89 I just bought I've been having troble with the alternator. It seems that some one has cut the white wire from the regulator and hooked it to direct power on the solanoid then they have cut the green and red wire and hooked it to direct power off the solinoid with a togle switch to turn it on and off then just left the other two ends cut? So with a multimeter and a test light I'm going to try to figure out what's going on. But if any one knows were that green wire is powered and what fuses and relays it goes through it would be a big help. I am going to do a 3g eventually but right now I need to get the truck running before the snow flys. And also there is a rather thick green wire hanging off my glow plug ignitor switch with a bolt threw it dose any one know were this hooks up thanks guys

Welcome to the IDI forum

here are several Diagrams for the glow plugs and alternators :

You will have to decide which alternator is on your truck
some times the hardest thing is to figure out what a PO did to it before you got it.
good luck
