internally regulated alternato

Can some one list the procedure to install a internallly regulated alternator. I would like to get rid of the voltage regulator and use a 10si alt. or equavalent. I mainly need to know what wires go where!

on a non EFI engine, rip off old alternator. mount one wire alternator. run 10 guage wire from Hot (+) on alternator to hot (+) on battery. Jump ground on alternator to engine block. Enjoy!

The 10si is not a one wire alternator. Its a three wire, people seem to overuse the word " one wire alternator" and apply it to all the delco alternators.

I used a gm 12si 94 amp. I ended up boring the mounting hole slightly. I made a harness that goes from the alt to the alt plug I had to buy, and to the starter solenoid. I also ran a wire for my ammeter, but it reads funky.

I think the car I spec'd at the parts store was an 85 caprice classic. Hope this helps
