the stock gauge reads normal anytime the oil pressure is over 7 psi. so if its dropping at idle its going below 7 psi of pressure. probably a worn out engine would be the culprit. does the engine make any noises? it probably just needs new bearings and an oil pump to make it new again. if i were you i would go and pick up an aftermarket gauge for oil pressure, it will give a much more accurate reading
