I understand that it's doable but I'm not planning on replacing parts on a 60000 dollar truck that I could have got right in the first place. I'll start the dealer on a local search Monday.
Well, your original post indicates that you do not want to let this truck get away from you, and there is a solution. You pretty much answered your own question. I'm not sure what you are looking to learn with this thread.....

Well I asked about price and got some feedback on that, and learned about the rear air option as part of the center console as well as the 110V outlet... I think this thread is what helped me decide. It also sounds like ordering from the factory is not going to eliminate my ability to get a deal so that completely changes my thought about "letting this truck get away..."
So far, thanks for the feedback... I am going to search for the center console and then see if I can find out the invoice price on the truck and see how close I can get.
Why do you want the FX4 package? After reading a number of threads here, I'm convinced that I don't want it.
To be honest, I'm asking myself the same question to try and justify not ordering and having to wait. I guess I like the idea of the "better" shocks, skid plates and hill decent feature.
I ordered mine....Good decision....But I order all my trucks. No Chrome package...Wasted money,IMO..Didn't order steps,..I used my Nfab steps from my 2007, wasted money also. I saved $ doing that

...Humm..."better" shocks??? Not really...those Rancho shocks are POS! Do a search here...and you will see what I mean.
Question on fuel system, every one nows about Rick, I ordered truck at that time but decided not to pick it up due to his problems, seems like its not a wide spread issue at this time. The dealer called me Friday and left a message asking if I was coming for the truck. If for some crazy reason the bosh pump goes bad is there a after market pump that could be installed that would and any further issues.
Don't flame me, but I drove a 2012 Sierra with the Duramax/Allison setup and Denali package. The truck was very nice and drove nicely as well. I liked that it didn't feel so big, but it also didn't have the info center screen and was about $3500 more. Anyone have any pointers for me that would help me decide? I still have my reservations about the GMC, but I like it as well...
The bottom line is,your the one who is gonna plant your rear end in the truck.Whatever one you like the best is what you need to do.It is not about us, were not paying for it. That's my .002 worth

I don't think you should do it- If you get the gmc you will have to change your screen name and I think Tom will revoke your membership privileges to fte
i had local dealer order me a 350DRW with console for vents and inverter, but they ordered the bench. I said if I'M spending that amount if money I wanted what i ordered. They were willing to cut $1000 but told me Icould put in after market console. How much for that, $2500. I told them to just order what i wanted. LOL
