"The Replacement" Issues....

So here are the problems that I never ran into on the 84( bless that truck's soul)

Brakes: I got no hydraulics, i gotta stand on the brakes to really SLOW down...it was leaking air cause you could hear it in the cab right at the brake pedel....now its not....

Electrical: No reverse lights(havent checked bulbs, will tomorrow), no dash lights(not a blown bulb...has to be something with grounds)

Spare tire mount(under the bed style(hate that one)): It dont turn!! i wanted to know if i could somehow put the 84's more classy in bed style mount in.

Stack Delete: Think I can do it? I wanna just put the exhaust I put on the 84....

Turbo Install: It came with an ATS 088 turbo, it blew its head gasket so the PO took it off during the rebuild.....think i can put it on?

Sounds like you need to check your vac, if you have good vac a brake booster is in order.
Dash lights check the fuse, or maybe the coil in the switch has issues.
Backup lights could be the switch, thats what is causing mine but i just haven replaced it yet.
If you have a blue tipped wrench the stack delete sould go pretty easy
you can put the turbo on, but have the heads been studded?

Use the 84 for parts like the engine. Throw the turbo on the 84's engine after you install it, then you don't have to change the head gasket. Too much boost caused the head gasket to blow on the 83, most likely. Watch your boost levels and Don't blow the 84 engine. The brakes are most likely the vac pump. Mine did that before I replace my vac pump. Swap in the pump from the 84.

They are easy to work on out of the truck, just make sure you have an engine stand that can take it.
