I know this subject has been discussed alot, but I can't find what I'm looking for. Thought I would ask you guys here.
I want a winter front that covers the entire front grille and "clips" onto the back of the grille ( like the factory ones for the duramax) instead of double side taped little buttons that stick on the front of the grille and covers only the center flat part of the grille. I don't want to put those sticky buttons on my chrome grille and I think the winter front looks better when it covers the entire grille.
Diesel engines by nature are hard to warm up in cold weather. Having a cold front helps the engine to warm up faster by blocking the heat from leaving the engine compartment. The benefit of this is warming the cab faster and better fuel economy because of faster fluid warm up. I have had them on all of my diesel trucks and our heavy equipment, and there is definitely a noticeable benefit. I don't understand Fords thinking on this.

I talked to the parts dept at my dealer and they said, far as they know Ford isn't making one for the 2011-up Super Duty. That seems stupid to me.
I can't believe it's this difficult to find the things I need for this truck. I'm starting to regret buying it a bit. This "well thought out" truck doesn't seem to be so thought out much at all anymore.
Winter front, mirror caps, and a lift kit, those I'm sure are just the beginning of a long list of items I can't have for this truck. Starting to get irritated
You CAN run it without a winter front, no problem. A winter front just helps the truck warm up so much faster and have heat blowing so much faster. The biggest benefit is better fuel mileage since the engine is warmer, faster. It also helps keep snow out of the radiator/engine for guys like me running a plow.
Some black fake leather and some stitching and a few Velcro straps and you could probably get one made perhaps an upholsterer can do this for you? Just be sure to leave two holes that can be unstrapped to let some air through when the weather warms up or on longer hauls pulling some weight. I hear ya on the slow warmups, already have had mine in for a month.

I'm sure the mirror caps will be out soon. Lift KIt????...plenty of guys running lift kits here on FTE, didn't even realize that was an issue finding that...,,,is it?
Check out cloud-rider.com all season screen.
picked mine up yesterday have not installed yet, have to take the whole grill out, wasnt up to it today, w/football on. will get it done late next week.
Last year I just blocked off the bumper holes with heavy cardboard, looked hoaky but it worked. I started to make fiberglass blockoffs for the bumper this year got side tracked but will post pics of them installed when done.

According to my dealer, the black textured mirror caps will never be offered. The problem I have with a lift kit is they're all a leveling lift kit. With plow prep my truck already sets level so I need equal lift front to back. Seems every kit is an inch shorter in the rear.
