why, why, why, Manifold....

Hey gang....I still have my 1999 f150 but just bought a 2005 f150. My 99 is goin to be sold but the 05 is having the same issue. That stinkin manifold design!!!!

There came to be a leak on my 99. I got a new manifold easy enough.....problem is getting those stupid bolt/nuts/studs is ridiculous! Are the engineers behind that design incompetent? Why would they use a regular steel connector without protection right by a wheel (road salt, water,heat)?......So we finally got the manifold off the 99 (what a pain!) But.....my 05 is in GREAT condition on the underside, it had a aftermarket coating put on her....but....that dam manifold is heading for the same condition....the place I bought ir from agreed to replace the manifold with whatever I bring to them....CAN I USE STAINLESS BOLTS....not studs....BIG difference in price between a stainless bolt and a those stainless studes......Hope to hear from you,,,,,ed
