engine bay wiring (rat) issues
There are lots of wires that have been chewed through, including the ones going to the regulator on the passenger side firewall. Most of the wires I will be able to splice back together. The wires going to the regulator are chewed through too close to the connector for me to be able to splice. What would be the best way (not necessarily easiest or cheapest) to fix the wires going there?
Also there are two wires that are running from the back firewall that are completely chewed through. They are two black wires that were protected by tubing, and look like they should run up the middle of the engine to the front. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for the compartment to find what these wires are, and where they are supposed to go?
You can also check the parts stores for the regulator wiring. Sometimes they sell new connectors with short pigtails coming out of the connector to splice back into the wiring. I know they sell some of the headlight switch connectors, and they may have the regulator connector also.

I have bought from this place and am happy, found them on ebay.
Here is for your 1985 wiring diagram:

Yes, see if the parts stores have pigtail-type replacement connectors for the regulator, some stores that have HELP! stuff have a HELP! catalog of things they can order.

Junkyard might be a good bet if you can find such wiring in decent shape (look on cars, too).
