got one for number dummy

I was taking pictures of my 429 thinking about selling it and found out that I think it is a 1972 and the head castings are D2VEAA I couldn't find these castings in my books. It is a 4bbl 429 supposedly from a mercury. It was in a 79 f250 when I got it and it would run!! If anyone has any idea what these heads are specd to I would appreciate it. I might build it instead of selling it. Thanks.

The V in the engineering number means they were designed for the Lincoln division.
(doesn't mean much. They could have been used in a Mercury or a Ford as well)

The D2 means they were the -one year- 1972 open chamber heads. (Ford had issues with detonation and re-designed the heads for the next production year, D3VE)

The E designates an Engine part.

The AA is an engineering revision.

Here's some information on 385 series heads from a knowledgeable source.
