Got a question Guys
I,ve got a .030 460 with 1970 429 heads (Dove-c)heads, I think 76 cc.
I went back with stock .030 dish pistons to keep compression managable on pump gas. I just used stock head gaskets, and a mild cam what is called an r/v comp cams 257, What is my compression?
Thank you
L. Samuels
I have a '78 460 with 68 429 heads (same as Dove heads I think). Block was bored out 30 over and with the 76 cc combustion chamber, compression ratio calculated out to 9.44 to 1.
At 2500 ft elevation, it won't ping on regular. Start pulling a trailer, and you have to buy better gas or retard the timing. I just buy better gas.
